This project involves replacing ten (10) existing elevators in ten (10) buildings at the Coatesville Department of Veterans Affairs (VA) Medical Center (CVAMC). Each of the existing elevators under consideration is on emergency standby power. None of the mechanical spaces and elevator shafts are fully compliant with current Applicable Standards and Codes, and the project shall bring each elevator to compliance. This involves demolition or relocation of equipment in mechanical spaces, providing new circuits for elevator auxiliary devices, and modification of main elevator feeders. The elevator mechanical rooms for buildings 4, 5, 7, 57, and 58 are on the basement level of the building, while the mechanical rooms for buildings 2, 6, 8, 38, and 39 are in the attic of the building, above the elevator shaft. This scope of work includes all effort needed to design and renovate the elevators listed above.
